ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA/GUIDELINES

• All Robeson County natives shall be eligible unless the Board deems they moved from the County and never returned to live at too early an age to be considered.
• Any non-Robeson County native who has established residence over a 10 consecutive year period. Also, a non-native whose entire athletic career was during his/her time of residence in the County.
  
  
• Any athlete must have been retired in their sport for five years before they can be eligible for selection (exceptions include lifetime sports such as golf, tennis, etc. in which case peak performance should have been reached prior to selection).
  
  
• Coaches, administrators, officials, etc. shall have reached the age of 62 prior to nomination or shall have retired prior to selection (exception: a person who has worked on coached in the county for 20 years or more.)
  
  
• Someone other than a student-athlete / activity participant, coach, activity sponsor, contest official or administrator is eligible for nomination within the Major Contributor Category providing he /she has made an extraordinary contribution that results in a significant benefit or reflects great credit to the County The Selection Committee may recognize an organization or individual for exceptional service by awarding the Lifetime Achievement Award.
  
  
• No member, while serving on the Selection Committee, shall be eligible for nomination. If the Selection Committee chooses to give the Lifetime Achievement Award, it may be above and beyond the limit of awards as stated above in this section.
  
  
• A quorum of the committee members is 50 percent of the seated members at the time. Once a quorum is established, a candidate must receive a 75 percent affirmative vote of the Selection Committee.

REMOVAL CLAUSE

Any member of the Robeson County Hall of Fame may be removed for unethical conduct and / or behavior upon a 90 percent affirmative vote of a quorum of the current Hall of Fame Committee. Any member, or designee of a member, who is subject to removal will be given the opportunity to submit a written statement on his or her own behalf prior to a vote of the Committee.
